Azure Ray: Sleep

Fill these spaces up with days
in my room, you can go you can stay
I can’t sleep
I can’t speak to you
I can’t sleep
Now these years locked on my drawer
I’ll open to see just to be sure
I can’t sleep
I can’t speak to you
I can’t sleep
And so i’m reaching out for the one
And so i’ve learned the meaning of the sun
And all this like a message comes to shift my point of view
And watching through my own light
As it tints the shade of you
Hold my wine hold it in
Nobody’s lost but nobody wins
And I can’t sleep
I can’t speak to you
I can’t sleep
And so i’m reaching out for the one
And so i’ve learned the meaning of the sun
And all this like a message comes to shift my point of view
And watching through my own light
As it tints the shade of you
I cant sleep, I cant speak to you

Ignorance

If I’m a bad person you don’t like me
Well I guess I’ll make my own way
It’s a circle, a mean cycle
I cant excite you anymore
Where’s your gavel, your jury?
What’s my offense this time?
You’re not a judge but if you’re going to judge me
Then sentence me to another life

Don’t wanna hear your sad songs
I don’t wanna feel you pain
You swear it’s all my fault
but you know we’re not the same

I’ve got friends who stuck together
we wrote our names in blood
But I guess you cant accept that the change is good
Well you treat me just like another stranger
Well its nice to meet you, Sir
I guess Ill go
I best be on my way out

Ignorance is your new best friend

This is the best thing that could’ve happened
Any longer & I wouldn’t have made it
It’s not a war, It’s not a rapture
I’m just a person but you cant take it
The same tricks that once fooled me
They won’t get you anywhere
I’m not the same kid from your memory
Well now I can fend for myself

A little something for today

Anatomy of your Enemy by anti-flag.

Ten easy steps to create an enemy and start a war:

1. Create the enemy, sometimes this will be done for you.

2. Be sure the enemy that you have chosen is nothing like you. Find obvious differences like race, language, religion, dietary habits, fashion. Emphasize that their soldiers are not doing a job. They are heartless murderers who enjoy killing.

3. Once these differences are established, continue to reinforce them with all disseminated information.

4. Have the media broadcast only the ruling party’s information. This can be done through state run media. Remember in times of conflict all for-profit media repeats the ruling party’s information. Therefore all for-profit media becomes state run.

5. Show this enemy in actions that seem strange, militant, or different. Always portray the enemy as non-human, evil, a killing machine.

6. Eliminate all opposition to the ruling party. Create an “us versus them” mentality. Leave no room for opinions in between. One that does not support all actions of the ruling party should be considered a traitor.

7. Use nationalistic, and/or religious symbols in rhetoric to define all actions. This can be achieved with slogans such as “freedom loving people vs. those who hate freedom.” This can also be achieved with the use of flags.

8. Align all actions with a dominant deity. It is very effective to use terms like “it is God’s will” or “God bless our nation.”

9. Design propaganda to show that your soldiers have feelings, hopes, families, and loved ones. Make it clear that your soldiers are doing a duty. They do not want or like to kill.

10. Create an atmosphere of fear and instability. Then offer the ruling party as the only solution to comfort the public’s fears. Remembering the fear of the unknown is always the strongest fear.

We are not countries. We are not nations. We are not religions. We are not gods. We are not weapons. We are not ammunition. We are not killers. We will not be tools.

This is not an Exit

Tonight will be the night that we

Begin to ease the plugs out of the dam

And we will stand, knee deep in the float

The undertow grab our heels and won’t let go

And while we hold, our legs quivering

The water rises now to our teeth when we just let go

And sail belly up to the clouds

The rocks scraping our backs

To breathe in the air will be the only thing that we have

And all the wasted nights, and empty moments in our lives

Flushed away as we sway with the rhythm

Of the waves bobbing us up

Crests fall to troughs as we feel our gills open up

And sail belly up to the clouds, the rocks scraping our backs

To breathe in the air will be the only thing that we have

And if the hook sets in the bottom of our lungs

We’ll rip it out and lick the blood off with our tongues

Despair can ravage you if you turn your head around and look down the path

That’s led you here, cause what can you change?

You’re a vessel now floating down the waterways

You can take your rudder and aim your ship, just don’t bother with the things left in your wake

Just sail belly up to the clouds, the rocks scraping your back

To breathe in the air will be the only thing that you have

And your love will be warm nights with pockets of moonlight

Spotlighting you as you drift, the actor in this play.

You walk across the stage, take a bow, hear the applause

And as the curtain falls, just know you did it all

The best that you knew how

And you can hear them cheering now

So let a smile out and show your teeth, cause you know you lived it well.

Nightingale

And I will flail under these lights

That seep down from the bitter sky tonight

And I will kick and beat my wrists together

Feel an ocean breathing waves, feel them licking at my face

Ceilings don’t exist and there are no floors beneath me

If I were king of this night, would you become my queen?

And I hope, your majesty, that you like your position

I’ll do anything I can to keep you by my side

And I’d stare off through the darkness to find us a kingdom

Just kiss me before I go

I’ll have to walk a thousand miles

Just to find the ground deserving of your feet

You can throw me down and walk on me

And I’d just look on through my love and through the haze

And I hope, your majesty, that you like your position

I’ll do anything I can to keep you by my side

And I’ll stare off through the darkness to find us a kingdom

Just kiss me before I go

The nightingales are singing now

They’re calling out our marriage to our subjects on their knees

Their jewelry is thrown into the air

They sigh at their release as their shackles hit the ground

The trumpets call out now, we’re home at last

Private Eye (Alk3)

I dragged this lake looking for corpses

Dusting for prints, pried up the floorboards

Pieces of planes and black box recorders don’t lie

And I’ve been preoccupied with these sick, sick senses

That sense DNA on barbed wire fenses

Maybe some day I’ll find me a suspect that has no alibi.

New Years Eve was as boring as heaven

I watched flies fuck on channel eleven

There was no one to kiss

There was nothing to drink except some

Old rotten milk someone left in the sink.

And there’s no ring, there’s no ring

On the phone anymore.

There’s no reason to call I’m passed out on the floor.

Smoked myself stupid, and drank my insides raisin dry.

And at the right place at the right time

I’ll be dead wrong and you’ll be just fine

I won’t have to quit doing fucked up shit

For anyone but me

At the right place at the right time

It will have been worth it to stand in line

And you won’t have to stop saying “I love cops”

For anyone but me, your private eye.
